Avery 5 mos Milestones

Around the house

Avery is so serious sometimes... I tried everything to get him to smile, but he looked at the camera with googly-eyes over and over. He's so sweet.

Sean loves to get bundled up and go out in the snow. He'll wrap his scarf around his neck and go to the door saying, "Shoes on, front door, outside please."

Christmas Day

Today started with the whole family sleeping-in! We haven't slept until 9am... umm, can't really remember the last time. We opened presents, then made breakfast. As you can see, we tried the snowflake and snowman cookie cutters on the bread for the french toast. It was kinda wasteful, so we only did a few (for Sean and Mommy). Avery enjoyed his gifts. He sat up for quite a while and worked on grasping. In the afternoon, Jason and I spent an hour and a half each shoveling our front porch, driveway and back alley.

Christmas Eve 2008

The video is from our front porch. We received another 4 inches of snow last night AND it has continued to snow this afternoon. There isn't one hardware store around us that has any snow shovels left in stock! So, our neighbors will have to be our saving grace if we get in a bind. It's slightly ironic, but their car is the one buried on the street!

We were terribly disappointed yesterday when we discovered that Avery was too sick to get on an airplane to St. Louis. He's been diagnosed with RSV/Bronchitis. We went to the pediatrician again today and although he's doing better than yesterday, we still have a little way to go. In any case, you can see that he's still in good spirits - playing when he is awake.

Snowed in again...

Last night, it continued to snow. This time, we are actually 'stuck' at home. As you can see by our driveway, it wouldn't matter if we had 4-wheel drive. Jason has been outside for an hour and a half (with hot tea in hand), shovelling out the driveway/road that connects us to the outside world. Hopefully, by noon we'll be able to make it out. Sean thinks the snow is pretty cool! The grater he's playing with was generously lent by our neighbors... who also let us use their snow shovel.

Snow Storm in Seattle

Since last Wednesday, we have been hit with three snow storms. We live on the eastside of Seattle, closer to the mountains. We've had at least 6 inches of snow. Last night, we lost power, but fortunately it turned back on at 5am! We stayed warm and the kiddos didn't even know it happened. As you can see from the pictures, the 6 inches of snow we received got blown into snow drifts... for most of Saturday it looked like a blizzard outside. The forecast still calls for more snow, but we think the worst is over. What a weekend!

The Boys

Sean just adores Jason. He chases him around the house as much as he can. Avery soaks up every moment that they play together - staring intently. I almost think that Avery's jealous of the rough-housing he's missing out on. I assure him there will be plenty of opportunities in the future for the three of them to wrestle!

I like to eat, eat, eat!

Avery started on solid foods this week. He eats like a pro. We're not entirely surprised, considering who his brother is. :) So far he likes peas, chicken noodle dinner, pears, green beans and peaches (although I think the peaches give him a slight cheek rash, so we are discontinuing those).

Ah, Naked Baby!

Naked babies are just so cute! Avery didn't mind being in the spotlight, at all. :)

At Home on the Weekend

Sean loves to build and build...

I am so handsome...

Avery Photo shoot!

We took soooo many photos, but Avery is like his Mommy - we aren't very photogenic. These are the best ones we got! :)

Sean and Camden

Sean's buddy, Camden, came over on Saturday. We got bundled up for the park (50's/sunny), and had a great time. These two keep you running!

Jubilee Farm

Today we went to Jubilee Farm with our friends from church. We went on a hay ride, Sean rode a pony (which he loved) and picked pumpkins. As you could imagine, there was mud all over us!
